Tier 1: The Best
1. Aptive Environmental (Pest Control)
Average rep pay: $30K-$60K per summer. Top rep pay: $150K+ per summer. One of the most aggressive summer sales programs in D2D. Excellent training. If you are competitive and want maximum earning potential, Aptive is hard to beat.
2. Vivint (Home Security)
Average rep pay: $40K-$80K per year. Top rep pay: $200K+ per year. This is my company. I have been here 10 years and built a $2M net worth selling for Vivint. The product is real. Year-round work available, not just summer.
3. Hawx Pest Control
Average rep pay: $25K-$50K per summer. Top rep pay: $120K+ per summer. Growing fast and paying well to attract talent. Young and hungry culture.
4. Moxie Pest Control
Average rep pay: $25K-$45K per summer. Top rep pay: $100K+ per summer. One of the best cultures in D2D pest control. Solid commissions.
5. Sunrun (Solar)
Average rep pay: $50K-$100K per year. Top rep pay: $250K+ per year. Solar pays the most per deal in D2D. A single close can pay $3,000 to $8,000 in commission. But the sales cycle is longer.
Tier 2: Solid Options
6. Ehrlich Pest Control - $20K-$40K per summer. Established brand, steady work.
7. Terminix - $20K-$40K per summer. Big name recognition helps at the door.
8. Grit Marketing - Varies by campaign. Sells for multiple companies, good for exploring.
9. Vivint Solar - $50K-$90K per year. High per-deal commission with Vivint backing.
10. Slomins (Home Security) - $30K-$60K per year. Strong regional brand in the Northeast.
Tier 3: Worth Considering
11. Forge Marketing - $20K-$35K per summer. Transparent pay, strong campus recruiting.

13. Lotus Sales - $20K-$40K per summer. Smaller operation, personal attention.

Red Flags: Companies to Avoid
Do not work for any company that charges you a fee to start, will not put the commission structure in writing, or has no formal training program.
